Hear me out: in 100 years they will have recast Kirk 17 times in remakes, but nobody will have released a cover that has absolutely no business being as good as this one. Cocker wrote the song, somehow — and I don’t understand how — Shatner managed to perfect it. Like Reznor/Cash with Hurt
