I rarely visited Tom Sawyer Island in Disneyland Park as a child, but now I love taking my children there. It feels like a magical calm island that appears right when we cannot take the crowds any longer.

This one came from scrap fleece, a blue tee and some iron-on vinyl. Winter hat and athletic tee fit for a monster.

We give our favorite childhood toys new life with our Christmas tradition of setting them up around the tree in a little Christmas scene. Free, easy and fun. Happy Holidays!

Here’s another hat that rose from the scrap pile. (Who knows why I had giant googly eyes and a baseball cap.)
This guy is coming with us to Pixar Place Hotel and Disneyland, because he looks like he could help Dory and Marlin find their way back to Nemo. “Remember, swim through it, not over it.”

Love how it turned-out, but the reality that I had all these supplies on hand makes me shudder. Still, good for a Disneyland winter visit.

A hat in tribute to Wreck-It Ralph & Sugar Rush. Patched it together with leftover bits: scrap fleece, handful of beads, ping pong ball, old balloon & some wire. Love how it turned-out, but the reality that I had all these supplies on hand makes me shudder. Still, good for a Disneyland winter visit.

Picked this up at Target a few years ago. I love pulling it out for the holidays because it reminds me of “it’s a small world.”
