After ceding power of the purse, GOP lawmakers beg Trump team for funds
Republican senators find themselves in an unusual position these days: begging Trump officials to release funds they themselves appropriated.

I did an event in IN a few weeks ago where I said that on 1/6/21 Mike Pence saved the country (for now) by being one of very very few who stood by his principles under maximum threat.
Dark Pence is back.

President Zelenskyy has been one of the greatest leaders of our time, guiding Ukraine through the darkest period of its recent history, rising up to Russia’s unwarranted aggression, being an inspiration to the Ukrainian people and ensuring that Ukraine’s voice is heard on the world stage.

Trump is the world’s worst negotiator.
In Korea, Afghanistan and Ukraine he simply gives the bully what he wants.
And gets nothing in return.

The majority of Americans didn’t vote to rename the Gulf of Mexico.
A small majority of those Americans who voted last year voted for Donald Trump. However he never told the voters this Gulf of America nonsense was part of his platform.
my take is that your willingness to accept this gulf of america nonsense is an indicator of your willingness to accept much worse things coming from this administrator
Trump’s decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico may be upsetting to some, writes @giladedelman.bsky.social, but “in a democracy, values are determined by majority rule, and they don’t shift in only one direction. They can shift back”:

Europe can’t rely on the strength of the transatlantic relationship to help contain Russia’s threat – it must lead from the front and be the true force of support that Ukraine needs. Not just for Ukraine’s sake, but for a free and sovereign Europe.

So Trump sacks the chairman of the Kennedy Centre & installs himself. Not even Hitler had it this easy. What is America rolling over and accepting dictatorship?

I personally will continue to use "Gulf of Mexico" because our president is a wrathful felonious nincompoop with the intellect of paramecium and I do not consent to his cartographic buffoonery
Encyclopædia Britannica will continue to use ‘Gulf of Mexico’ for a few reasons:

-We serve an international audience, a majority of which is outside the U.S.

-The Gulf of Mexico is an international body of water, and the U.S.’s authority to rename it is ambiguous.

Trump’s Republicans seem to have forgotten that the US was set up with “checks & balances” to make sure the country never became a dictatorship.

They did a bad job & itis fast becoming one.
