Idk how long I walked around with a sproingy metal bit hanging out of my knee brace yesterday but I guess I'm glad nobody made it weird. (I hate that I now have one more thing to add to my pile of things to mend, but I certainly can't afford a new one)

2 year old stepped on this snake last night and I about had a heart attack. So thankful it was a gopher snake. I've never seen a snake out this late in the year

Meet Not Our Cat, aka NOC. He's been hanging around our property for months and has recently decided we're now bffs. This week, Fresno TNR and The Kirkland Foundation helped me get him neutered. I love this chatty little weirdo and need to find a cozy indoor home for him.

We had a pumpkin (ig?) pop up in the compost this spring. I threw some of it into a pot and brought it up to the garden to see what would happen. Mostly nothing, but I have been eating a lot of squash blossoms. There's now one fruit, and I'm really hoping we get one ripe pumpkin from this thing

I made such a good dinner from the garden. Onion, jalapeno, eggplant, and garlic - all home grown cooked in a slightly sweet soy sauce over rice

The volunteers from my compost are producing so much more than most of what I planted on purpose. The plants that are doing well are being mowed down by the criminal in the 3rd pic

I cut a ton of hair off and it feels so good
