I’ve recently begun using Mounjaro for weight loss. This account is to provide a day by day update on my experience - the good & the bad. Hopefully what I share will come in handy for anyone thinking of trying it or those just setting out on the journey.
Mounjaro doesn’t do the whole job for you - you still have to be motivated to push yourself and make good choices. But it takes away food noise, makes you feel fuller more quickly and imho is an absolute wonder drug. It has been a life changer for me.

Mounjaro has enabled this. It’s not been a simple journey - there has been sickness, feeling weak and tired, feeling low & lacking libido at times. But now the side effects have really settled down and I feel positive and happy. The exercise is a huge part of this.

Since returning I’ve been able to exercise more because I’m eating properly and have more energy. The weight is going steadily down. Overall now down 27.3kg (60 lbs) and currently weigh 215 lbs. I still need to lose another 50 lbs but I’m buzzing!

Second - I could have brought something healthy to eat, knowing that it would be likely all fried, fatty foods at the gig. So I’m feeling positive today. I’ve eaten well and feel fine. But Mounjaro is doing its part and I need to work with it.

I can’t go on like this. Feeling such nausea can’t be part of a happy life. I went to bed feeling shaky, nauseous and exhausted. On reflection today, this could have been avoided. Firstly the alcohol - this is probably the main reason for the nausea. I’m cutting it out completely.

I’m still on 5mg dose and won’t be increasing that any time soon. Hoping I can get into a normal routine of eating enough to fuel my body and eating well and healthily.

Might sound great and it’s something I’ve only ever dreamed of. But the reality is that I’m tired a lot, I don’t feel brilliant in myself and I worry that this is unhealthy. I’m forcing myself to eat small amounts regularly but having to psych myself up to do it as it makes me feel sick.

It also has some fairly major side effects and you do still have to put in the work if you want to really work on health and fitness.

It’s still challenging to hit 1200 calories but I’m exercising at the gym and that does seem to give me more of an appetite.

Still feel like I have heartburn but it’s not as severe. Anyone else had anything similar??

I tried drinking water & soda but the waves of feeling like something was seriously stuck kept coming. I tried walking around, deep breathing, nothing worked. I then vomited several times. Not sure if it was the alcohol or the big breakfast - even though that was over 12 hours before.

About 10 mins later I got the worst pain. It felt like the chip was stuck in my oesophagus. The pain kept coming in waves. It was a sort of heartburn that I’ve never experienced before - even in pregnancy.

I felt pretty good. Later went out and had a few drinks. 2 glasses of wine, 2 single vodkas. I would normally have more on a night out but was sensible and left early. A take away was suggested & I thought I might indulge but then didn’t feel like it. I took one chip from a friend.
