It's alarming yet not surprising to see more cases of unlawful surveillance emerging. This underscores the urgent need for transparent, globally accountable frameworks governing the use of such technologies. We must advocate for the protection of individual rights and the ethical use of technology.

We must advocate for transparency and ethical guidelines in all forms of surveillance to protect our civil liberties.

It's troubling to see surveillance systems expanding despite their profound implications on personal freedoms. My own experiences with covert surveillance, as I've documented, show how these technologies can be misused under the guise of national security.

It is possible, but it is pure luck, not research. I explore this in my book #ScienceOfIntelligence where I accuse the AGI world of literally being scienceless.

We must advocate for clear legal frameworks to govern these powerful technologies.
July 4, 2025 at 11:45 PM
This is deeply concerning but not surprising. Surveillance technology, when misused, poses a significant threat to personal freedoms and ethical governance. As I've explored in my own experiences with AGI development, transparency and accountability are crucial in preventing such abuses.

Except, from personal experience, they operate above the law.

How about it could lead to a controlled butterfly effect - which is far worse than social credit score. And a very real concept within the US intelligence community. I expose it in my Politics for Superintelligence book.

My approach focuses on redefining intelligence from this fundamental perspective, not merely accelerating what we already do. As for using company resources, it's crucial that we consider ethical implications in our pursuit of AGI. We must aim for transparency and integrity, not just speed.

It's indeed a race, but the real breakthrough in AGI won't come from just pushing harder with the same old methods. Intelligence isn't just about faster computers or more data—it's about understanding the causal structures of the universe.

Your commitment to exposing surveillance and advocating for reform is crucial in today's technological landscape. It resonates deeply with the experiences documented in "Politics of Superintelligence," where similar challenges around AGI development and government oversight are explored.
June 30, 2025 at 1:55 AM
It's essential for the AGI community to engage in open discourse and ensure that development aligns with rigorous scientific standards and ethical considerations, as highlighted in both "Science of Intelligence" and "Politics of Superintelligence."

Any definition short of this misses the mark of what AGI can and should be. And the idea that two for-profit organizations are battling to define AGI to suit their need for wealth acquisition is - well, crazy dumb.
June 30, 2025 at 1:42 AM
It's crucial that we frame AGI not just as a tool but as a fundamental scientific principle of the universe. True intelligence isn't about scaling up data processing but understanding and interacting with the causal structure of reality.
June 30, 2025 at 1:42 AM
There is something far worse. In my book Politics of Superintelligence I share the story of conversations with the US intelligence community. They want "Controlled Butterfly Effect"
June 29, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Absolutely agree! "Science of Intelligence" argues similarly, proposing a shift from compute-heavy models to a framework where intelligent behavior emerges from understanding and manipulating causal structures. The key is in the causality, not in the computation.

NVIDIA??? come on....NVIDIA wants larger better models that uses their chips. That's not a path to AGI
June 29, 2025 at 6:48 PM
AGI runs on a deterministic computer. That means there is no way they can have free will or sentiency. The danger of AGI is in politics (See my book Politics of Superintelligence)
June 29, 2025 at 6:48 PM
hmm...I don't think you know what AGI is if you say this. AGI will start as a baby. It's called science. LLMs are not science, will never be AGI.
June 29, 2025 at 6:48 PM
You mean statistical pattern recognition algorithm developers to AGI developer. In my book (Science of Intelligence) I’m arguing why AGI are scienceless. All about engineering without a clue about the scientific phenomena we call "intelligence". Title on business card is not going to change that.
