Jewish Pride at the Crossroads of the World!
March 2, 2025 at 7:12 PM
We took this photo with former hostages Elana Troufanov and Sapir Cohen while leading a group of Jews in tech in Israel.
I had the chance to present them with a dollar from the Rebbe.

Baruch Hashem, Sasha, Elena's son and Sapir's partner, was released today.

A little bit of light dispels a lot of darkness."

Dura synagogue part of antiquity enough? Roman Catacombs? (see on the right)
There are other examples.

(And yes, before you snark, Dura also has round menorahs. The point is that there is a tradition of depicting straight arms)

Why is Chanukah in the winter, at the darkest time of year?

Because when the world gets cold and dark, it’s time to make more light.

A fundamental principle of Chabad philosophy is that the mind, which by its innate nature rules over the heart,) must subordinate the heart to G-d's service by utilizing the intellectualization, comprehension and profound contemplation of the greatness of the Creator of the universe.

Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, told his son, Rabbi Dovber of Lubavitch: Grandfather, the Baal Shem Tov, said that one must have mesirat nefesh (total self-sacrifice and dedication) on ahavat Yisrael (love of one's fellow), even towards a Jew whom one has never seen.

We have a tradition attributed to the Baal Shem Tov: When one hears an uncomplimentary report about another Jew, even if he does not know the individual referred to, he should be very deeply pained.

"A person should ponder thoughtfully how great are the kindnesses of the Creator:
Such a puny insignificant being, Man, can bring great delight to the "Greatest of all great"' of Whom it is written, "There is no delving into His greatness."

Coffee for Sasha.

We are among the 6000 fellow Chabad Rabbis from around the world at the #kinus. Yet our hearts and prayers remain with Sasha Troufanov (an Amazon employee) and all the hostages enduring unimaginable suffering in Gaza.
