Baptized a Catholic, but born an atheist, Democrat, Red Sox fan... Boston since I reached the age of reason, but OFW (Originally from Worcester). Occasionally comment, seldom post. All things considered, I'd rather be in Ireland (especially Galway).
Just to let our Brit friends know that we sorta get it, the day after Thanksgiving a lot of us will be eating sandwiches full of leftover turkey and stuffing. Our version of carb on carb, with a bit of protein thrown in. Plus cranberry sauce, of course.

Sadly, this is absolutely true.

WTF? Bringing down the market is going to be great for "everybody"? He and his boys must be shorting...

Christ! Are the actually some people in that audience who thinks he makes any sense.

It's just lovely...

Thanks for making me want to kill for a Friendly's hot fudge sundae on coffee. Better yet, their long-gone Swiss chocolate almond sundae. Oh, for that tiny cup of salted alminds to sprinkle on top.

Now there's a Christmas card if ever I saw one.
November 16, 2025 at 10:31 PM
Thank you! That is, in fact, the brand I ordered.

You and me both. There's plenty I don't/won't agree with Pope Leo on, but as a baptized-a-Catholic-but-born-an-atheist type (with 16 years of Catholic education), I love what he's doing on immigration. And now this...I felt the same about Pope Francis (who, I think, also met with some trans folks).

And there's just one book that often doesn't make any sense and is outdated in so many parts.

I'd say he's our very own Lord Haw-Haw, but deep down, Hannity may not actually believe any of the nonsense he spews (and allows to be spewed).

Jim McGovern represents my home town (or, as we would once identify ourselves, my old parish: OLA). I haven't lived in Worcester in years, but so proud of this wonderful homie! @repmcgovern.bsky.social

I'm definitely hoarding. Stocked up at the store but couldn't find any bucatini, so ordered a six-pack on line.

Oh, I see. He wants to improve his standing but not actually do anything. That tracks.

Surprised they didn't cover it with gilt.

Better even than putting the needle on the record: Stop a record from skipping by putting a nickel or a penny on whatever they call the thing on the tone arm that's on top of the needle. Had to use judiciously, as it could scratch the record.

It also looks like something straight out of the 1960's. Nothing interesting about it.
November 6, 2025 at 2:25 AM
Is this a for-real pic of Mar-a-Lago food? WTF is it even supposed to be? A nasty looking lamp chop, greasy chicken skewers, and a lobster tail prepared the way no lobster should be? What a gag fest!
November 6, 2025 at 2:15 AM
And comprehensive immigration reform.
November 5, 2025 at 3:30 PM
My absolutely favorite moment of the speech.

Quoting Dorothy Day in a campaign ad? Is there still time for me to move to NYC and vote for Mamdani? (Not that I have it bad. Tomorrow I get to vote for Michelle Wu.)
November 4, 2025 at 4:37 AM
This Red Sox fan did. I'll be rooting against them at Fenway next season, but what a run!
