A very valid observation by @autoversed.bsky.social in the YouTube comments (Like and Subscribe!) of a recent News Show gave me a chance to explain why we don't add images to most of our audio content.

Comment from Autoverse: Just a quick bit of feedback to the podcasts being posted here, a few images of the vehicles you’re discussing wouldn’t go amiss. Although I do understand doing so is an extra layer of editing you may not have time for, especially as this is recorded as a podcast and intended to be passive media. Reply from Motoring Podcast: It's good feedback, and it gives me a chance to explain the reasons why we don't: - It IS something we do for Special Editions because it adds quite a lot of editing time (you have to incorporate the images between section breaks, etc.), and we don't have that bandwidth between recording and release for the News Show. - We'd really like people to follow the links from the show notes to the articles we're referencing. By doing that, you "give us a click", but you also give our sources a click and that keeps them happy. - The generation of video from the audio YouTube sucks from our RSS feed is handled entirely by YouTube and it strips out the images (and much of the show notes to be honest) automatically. I hope that helps.
