That looks very much in line with my ballpark type estimate. Would be worth seeing! Like the comments though. To be honest it was probably pretty scary averaging 135 mph on that RG500 Suzuki back in 1977.

My estimate is based on the speeds at the only other circuit that is (more or less) the same layout - Mugello. Best 500cc lap speed in 1976 - 91 mph. In 2024 112 mph. So + 21 mph.

That is brilliant. Can you now ask what the average speed would be around the old (1977) layout? 😄

Wonder at what speed a current MotoGP bike could lap the old Spa circuit? What do you reckon - 155 mph?

Hi Pete. Good to see you here. As it happens I have started again with a proper online database. The maintenance of the other was too time consuming. The one I am working on now is more work initially, but better in the long run. When I get it something like will send you a link.
