3- Once home, the lady fussed over making sure her new friend was comfortable. She was working on building a forever home but had a very cozy temporary setup ready in the meantime. Applesauce, however, elected to remain in the carrier.
"Grumpf," she said. "It’s better in here."

2 - One day, a lady came into the store looking for a new friend. She met Applesauce while the little gecko was taking a nap, and, not realizing just how grumpy she could be, decided to bring her home. Still half-asleep, Applesauce didn’t quite know what was happening and went into the carrier.

Applesauce was a very grumpy gecko indeed.
Looking through the window of the pet store, it was hard to tell just how grumpy she felt. But the other geckos knew.
"Don’t tease Applesauce," they whispered. "She’s very grumpy."
