Tarek flees Damascus in October 2015 to escape war and persecution by the Assad regime. His journey leads via Turkey, the Aegean, and the Balkan route to Germany. After trauma and hardship, new challenges await. He strives to integrate and begins a process of personal rediscovery.

"Hyphae" is a short, wordless animated film. On a quiet late summer day, three tiny mushrooms enjoy the breeze in a peaceful clearing. But as smoke rises and fire spreads across the landscape, the world changes. Animals flee—yet the mushrooms remain rooted, still and silent.
