My hot take: Normal people need therapists just like the rest of us, if only a few times a year.
Time Mage is possibly the best job in the game.

Return can manipulate probability. Haste is Haste. Slow is Slow. Meteor is Meteor.

Lance restores MP for endless spells.

They can break rods to cast strong black magic.

They can bonk with the Healing Staff and revive with the Sage Staff.

Ninja is simply a good attacker, but they're vulnerable out in the front row, and their attacks provoke double counters.

Their best weapon is the Chicken Knife, but they had no way to wield it without the Scram going off. Unless I gave them Jump, which isn't worth using with any knife.

Dragoon was the only tanky member of the party, including heavy armor and shields. This made Jump a bad combat option.

They also provided the only skill for equipping a new weapon and the only skill to restore MP.

My Dragoon was most useful as a back-row item spammer, with the Monk's +30% HP.

Monks dominated early but fell off hard by mid game.

The only exception? Equip Lance + Holy Lance + Kick + Kaiser Knuckles. Useful for annihilating counter-happy enemies.

Otherwise, they acted as a second Time Mage who can't break rods or use staves.
