Ask not what Snood can do for you, but what you can do for Snood.
I'm listening to Neil Young's latest Talkin' To The Trees and I see that it's co-produced by...Lou Adler! Who just turned 92. Needless to say, God Bless Him.

Something I just realized: In Britain a "villain" is a serious bad guy. In America a "villain" is a comic book character.

I've enjoyed every reincarnation of Inspector Maigret from Jean Gabin to Rowan Atkinson. This new one is good too. Only, since English is apparently the national language of France, why are documents and newspapers and signs still in French?

I had this yesterday. Quite tasty and reasonably priced compared to some of the more famous brands.

I thought I knew a thing or two but I'm only up to December 1900 and I'm already mortified by my profound ignorance of the Boer War.

Noir fans will get a kick out of Thomas Pynchon's latest. A gumshoe in 1930's Milwaukee. Exquisitely inventive period slang and hilarious (but very Pynchon-esque ) patter. I'm enjoying it immensely.

Because I do not hope
Because I do not hope to turn
Desiring this man's gift and that man's scope
I no longer strive to strive towards such things

I only noticed one obvious Dewey Cox moment in A Complete Unknown, when Pete Seeger, getting frantic at Newport, says "Excuse me, Odetta" as he rushes by a black woman. Other than that, it was kind of a guessing game as to who was who.
