And I know me. I get the skill to write a song... I'm going to want the song to be a real song... so I'm going to learn more skills. And this is going to be a real thing I do just because.

But because of the book I'm writing I'm going to learn to write songs. And then I just will have that skill and seems a waste not to flex it once I get that figured out so ofc I'm going to write songs all the time. lol.

And this nothing to do with vampires book is about a celebrity musician and I'm going to write songs for that book. Lol. I've written poetry, but never a song before. So it'll be an adventure.
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 AM
I'm barely into the book so I might change the ideas. But I def want to do a playlist. I wish I was good at creating music. I'm actually writing a book that has nothing to with vampires. I'll be known for vampires, but I'll write other things.

I'm thinking taking heavy metal songs but played with instrumental instruments. Or... I forget what they call the style. Think Evanescence or Nightwish but not necessarily specifically those. That style. Or oh.. the haunting siren vibe that's getting popular on the clock app.
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Yeah, I'm going to craft a playlist. Now if the author created one or some other fan did one I'll give it a listen. But I want to do my own just because. I've never done that before for a book. So I guess I'm a fan already. lol.

I picked instrumental because I didn't want to get distracted by lyrics on my first read through. I have ADHD, so that's very much possible. My brain needs stimulation but not too much and the right kind. lol. But I might get lyrical songs or mixture. Idk we'll see.

I like how the narration doesn't directly state it. You just know. This book needs a playlist. I can usually take or leave that. but this one needs one, like desperately. Right now I'm listening to whatever random instrumental songs youtube music throws at me.

The names of the characters are fun. The dynamics between them so far are fun. I've only read two chapters, mind you. It's so wild to me because the dynamics are fun but there is just this air of foreboding that is expertly crafted.

I have no idea how it ties to the rest of the book yet, but it is very much a set up. I'm writer and I know technical writing things. This is important. Just gunna have to trust me on this. Also amazing prologue. I won't spoil it. I'm not vicious like that.
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 AM
I will never understand what possesses someone to skip prologues. What book damaged you so much you hate prologues? I need to know. Because it's the set up of the story! If it didn't need one there wouldn't be one! But The Reaper's Son... prologue MUST BE READ. It's important.
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 AM
You skip the prologue of this book I will judge you so harshly. This is a book you need the prologue. It is the set up. All prologues are, but this book it is a necessary read. And I haven't gotten far in the book, mind you! It's necessary. Must read the prologue. Do not skip.

I was told it was going to be a ride. I predict this book is going to make me feel feelings I haven't felt before or haven't in a long time. I predict every chapter... no... scenes will make me put the book down and need to just sit with it for a moment before continuing. Because ALREADY!!
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 AM
and if that wasn't enough he signed it "eternally yours" bro. It's like a love letter. I'm taking it as author to fan, don't worry. And I haven't even got into the book! But I'm bringing it up because I want it immortalized I believe and predict this book is going to rip me a new one.
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 AM
This book I do believe it was advertised it would be signed when I bought it. So expecting just a signature and that happens pretty frequently. It's just quick signature and I'm pleased with that. But this note. *low whistle* my poor defective heart, my dude!
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 AM
The funny thing is before the book arrives I was thinking about how I enjoyed authors little extras that they do and mentioned liking it when they sign the books and sometimes put little notes. And this book arrives and... it's like I spoke and universe delivered and oh did it!
