Israel is conducting a war on Gaza that is destroying the very conditions of life. They are killing Palestinians by the tens of thousands, destroying buildings, degrading the health system, and leaving Gazans without water and food. If this is not a genocide, what is?

The Residential School System was an attempt at genocide, an effort to destroy communities by shattering the connection between generations. It failed, and the Indigenous resurgence around us is a testament to that failure. But the era of Canadian violence towards Indigenous people is not over.

Over 1 million BCers don't know if they will have enough to eat. #bcpoli
In 2022 there were 1,127,000 British Columbians who were food insecure. This means they could not access enough food, or could not access enough healthy and safe food. That means 21% of BC is hungry or undernourished. Between 2021 and 2022, the number of BCers who went hungry or undernourished jumped by about 270,000 people.

In 2020, 25% of BC households live in unaffordable housing. That number jumps to 38% for renter households. Housing is considered unaffordable if people spend more than 30% of their income on it. Metro Vancouver, which houses the majority of BC renters, has seen huge jumps in rents since 2020. SInce 2020, the Average Monthly Rent in Metro Vancouver has jumped 18% for Bachelor apartments, 20% for one bedroom apartments, 22% for two bedroom apartments, and 19% for 3 bedrooms
