West Midlands based, will mainly post SWFC related content,a tune of the day and the odd walk pic
Signed from Huddersfield for £2.75m, Booth had a fine debut season scoring 13 goals as the Owls finished a creditable 7th in the Premier League

The goal returns dwindled after that with the odd good moment like a hat trick against Bolton but he was sold back to Huddersfield for 200k in March 2001

Geary was a walking suspension and I just don’t think he fancied Quinn, I remember him doing a loan swap where Quinn went to Sunderland and we got Michael Reddy

Signed from Irish side Cherry Orchard as a youngster,Quinn debuted as a sub in an away win at Everton

Quinn made over 150 appearances but was released without fanfare in Turner’s 2004 clearout and signed for our friends from S2 becoming the first player to score for both in the Steel City derby

The same with England as well, people mention Butcher and Adams from his era but rarely Des, it amazes me he was finished in 1993 internationally. I also think he’s regarded fondly but he wasn’t an “arses out of seats” player in the mold of the guys you’ve mentioned if that makes sense.

A quality centre back who rarely missed games, Des Walker’s pace and judgement made him one of England’s premier centre backs of the late 1980s and early to mid 1990s

Arriving from Sampdoria in 1993 for £2.7m,the Owls faithful quickly took to Walker and his defensive displays

In the years following our relegation and with the loan and transfer rules being a bit looser back then,Owls managers often used a short term loan but in those days most were players whose best days were behind them

The first on this list is Simon Grayson who had an uneventful month at S6

A member of the Dutch squad that reached the semi finals of the 1998 World Cup

Jonk signed for the Owls from Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven

Often injured,Wednesday fans never really saw the best of the gifted midfielder and he was quietly released in 2001 on the expiration of his contract

Probably the last Owls player to win a full England cap whilst at the club, the left back’s career was plagued by injury problems and a knee injury curtailed his career with him calling time after an aborted comeback in 2002

Nowadays he’s often a commentator on Sky games

A former England schoolboy international,Haslam broke into the Wednesday side as the Owls started to drop through the leagues

A defensive utility player who scored his only Owls goal in a memorable win at Burnley

His mark at S6 was probably best felt on the coaching side as the academy manager

Basically older players who have something to prove and aren’t just here to collect a paycheque a la Olofinjana et al in the Dave Jones era

I think the base of an infrastructure is what I want to achieve this season, something we can build upon for the coming years

We need experience to guide the younger heads and to get out of the FM mentality that any player over 30 is worthless
