Yes, I designed the profile picture myself. I am very talented.
This one musical moment in Ninja Gaiden 4.

Big shoutout to @ludvigforssell.bsky.social for including Swedish lyrics in this track. Always love to hear it in video games, like Song of Mana in Legend of Mana.

Always loved his work since first hearing it in MGSV GZ.

Starkt jobbat! Hoppas på mer i framtiden!

Yoshitaka Suzuki appreciation. He's not employed by SE, but has collabed on numerous occasions, first Lords of Arcana. And while not SE, he arranged almost all of Uematsu's compositions in The Last Story. But his work in FF started with 13-2 with the phase 1 final boss. 1/9

Issen really is one of the most satisfying mechanics of any video game. (Please ignore the mouse cursor on the screen).

Hell Mode wrapped up. Onimusha 1 is a very fun game, but it would be a lot more fun if you could actually skip the cutscenes, Capcom. Also, maybe consider adding the Genma Onimusha content, please? Hell, I'd buy it for €10 if that's what it takes.

My current goal is to make more people aware of Shotaro Shima. He's easily the best thing about the Remake trilogy (and TFS in Ever Crisis) and deserves to be co-credited for lead composer with Mitsuto Suzuki and Masashi Hamauzu. Give him a solo game. Absolute MVP.

The US is now getting to feel the same pain us Europeans have felt for the last five years.

We used to be a even $60/€60, then with the raise to 70, we (somehow) still got games that cost €80 (FF7 Remake, DOOM The Dark Ages, etc.)

Now the US is getting that $80, while we also get €90. Feels bad.

In the context of the game, this was a song I was never really fond of. Too long to get going, and the battle's already over. But judged on its own, outside of the game, it's a brilliantly produced track with tons of things going on. Would've been perfect as a cutscene song.

With the release of Pirate Yakuza on the 21st, there have been just as many Yakuza games on the Dragon Engine as on the PS3 Engine (not counting FotNS Lost Paradise).

PS3 V1 (2008-2011): Kenzan, Y3, Y4, DS

PS3 V2 (2012-2016): Y5, Ishin, Y0, K1

DE (2016-TBD): Y6, K2, JE, LAD, LJ, Gaiden, IW, PY

My favourite thing about video game soundtracks is that they usually put the Game Over track right after the Boss theme. I can respect that disrespect.

Last night, I went to bed feeling giddy, because of Onimusha: WotS's upcoming appearance in the Capcom Spotlight. Not only did we get that, but we also got the announcement of a Oni 2 remaster. I wish I could describe exactly how I feel at this moment as someone who's wanted this for years. 1/6

When you're looking forward to replaying Rebirth on PC so much, that you feel no motivation to play anything in the meantime. Feels bad, man.

I think one goal I have is to be somewhat of an encyclopedia. I love to learn about games I play, and often read interviews, wiki articles, and trivia after finishing a game. The game development can often be more interesting than the game itself.

A random technical quirk I noticed in XIV is that the map scrolling speed when using a gamepad is frame rate dependant. 30fps makes it scroll noticeably slower than 60fps, and having it unlocked as far as your monitor/specs can go makes it even faster. Guessing they never fixed it 'cause low prio.

After almost three months of beta build updates, all six FF Pixel Remasters have now moved on to the beta-product build, which is the one they usually use when the update is about ready to go live.

SH2 remake's soundtrack release is meticulously well crafted. Excellent flow in song order and arrangements.

Haven't played it yet myself, but as a soundtrack, it surpasses the original imo. Yamaoka hasn't lost his skill in any way.

Concerning the XIV OSTs, when you remove the duplicates (previous expansions, non-arranged songs from other FF games, crossovers tracks like NieR, and from band arrange / orchestral albums) it really puts into perspective how much padding there is in them:
894 tracks -> 711 tracks. 183 dupes total.

Despite being RGG Studio's only second attempt at it, Infinite Wealth has probably one of my favourite turn-based battle systems ever, up there with at least FF10, and P5. Only real downgrade it has compared to LAD7 are the lack of skill shortcuts, presumably due to Kiryu's style switching.
