Det kan argumenteres for å hindre antidemokratiske krefter å komme til makt. Se til USA eller Tyskland i 30-årene. Totalitære politikere kommer til makten på demokratisk vis. Så erklæres det unntakstilstand og institusjonene bygges ned. Så forandres grunnloven, og plutselig er makten konsolidert.

Totally ridiculous in all respects. But maybe the world would have been better off? He would do less damage as the pope than as the president of the US.

Trump’s threats against a NATO ally are preposterous. When asked about a possible annexation of Greenland, he blatantly responded “It might happen”. How should NATO respond to rhetorics like that? Is there a protocol or an article for the situation where one member threatens another?

Outrageous, of course. The man has a rather grandiose image of himself, if you haven’t noticed.
