I found heartbreak lurking in the shadows.
I should have banished it, chased it into the light.
It shuttered as it looked at me, ichor dripping, fingers gnarled. It tasted of rotten fish when I brought it to my lips.
I swallowed heartbreak, because I starve for misery. And now it’s part of me.

I’m not religious, but I’ll forever respect this man for the work he did breaking down barriers to make the Church more compassionate and inclusive… like the teachings it was founded on.
