Annapolis Boat Show meet ups with former students… taking it way back with this one! Back to origins of our program, before we bought Rocinante! We used to do a lot of training deliveries. Still available to do them, but in a limited basis.

New Starlink plans, again, and they’re pricey. We need other non Starlink options.

We keep this crayon on the nav table. Really helps keep us pointed in the right direction when things get hairy out there.

Exciting dodger progress. Lotta planning and tweeking. It’s a bit hard to get the big picture view of the design beneath the winter cover, but it’s still too early to remove the cover. So far quite happy with what’s developing.

More winter projects fun! I used to be a fan of the two part finishes like Bristol Finish etc. but lately I’ve found Awlwood to be my choice. Seems to hold up just as well, with a simpler application. Just as pricey tho. Currently… stripping who knows what… previous owners work.

Sail until we found an iceberg… that was our sailing for 2011. What’s yours for 2025?

If you want to get fast and comfortable getting a fix on paper charts, you will on a Morse Alpha Expedition. Why bother you ask? Because it’s fun. It’s engaging. It’s good seamanship. It’s a fantastic way to connect with your surroundings. And it’s even cooler than making mix CDs for your friends.

Family sail training! If you’re thinking about going cruising with your family, the best way to prepare is together. Try it out as a family, learn a ton, and have plenty of fun! Do this before you buy a boat! Take a training course with us. The investment will pay off dividends in the end.

VHF pro tip #3:
Monitor channel 13 which is for "bridge-to-bridge" communications – that is, chatter between the command decks of commercial vessels. This channel becomes especially important when sailing in busy commercial zones like the Chesapeake Bay, Puget Sound, New York, Miami, etc.
