Appease rich donors (see esp. Patrick Wyman on Am. gentry); spend the money doing the Southern Strategy + individual responsibility narratives; just keep spamming it until it breaks.

I've only read the introduction, but from that: it's big history (caveats of generality), he's going to try to be very descriptive and not prescriptive, and is looking for starts of capitalism earlier and further afield than just industrial revolution Europe. I'll try to add when I've read more!

Beckert's Capitalism, although odds I actually finish it rather low (time constraints of parenting!)

There have been ones on JFK drive in SF. It seem like they weren't surviving through multiple wet seasons very well, and then they've been covered and locked the last couple of times I've been by. Flower piano SF is an event that is something like this for a week. Nothing free and inside tho AFAIK.

This is amazing photography and composition. Staring at it trying to determine to what degree its awkwardness was planned/ironic vs just what they happened to do.

Super love nonfiction read by the author. (But also realizing It takes their time away from writing so isn't always possible). Revolutionary Spring by Christopher Clark was one I listened to recently, so awesome.

Is there an ongoing thread (by you or anyone) or account that collects these "NYT pitchbot but actually" headlines? If not there should be.
