Explain to me how the TikTok US deal is any different than what Putin did with privately owned business when he seized control of Russia. The US government has taken stakes in chipmakers, is eyeing defense contractors, and stakes in patents funded by government grants.

I think it's funny that Erika Kirk thinks she'll be embraced as the leader of Turning Point USA by its activists.
To accept her as the successor of her late husband would be equity. Embracing a woman in a role that's been held by a man would require some inclusion. We know how much they hate DEI.

I'd say at this rate we won't have free media by the end of the month, but the corporate media are tripping all over themselves in a rush to anticipatory obedience, so what free media do we really have any way?

Expect to hear about the stock market breaking record highs this week. Why? Corporate stock buybacks. These buybacks are on track to surpass $1.1 trillion in 2025 and represent about 12% of the total purchasing on the exchanges. Institutional trading doesn't even come close to this volume.

Donald Trump couldn't figure out how to run a profitable casino. Why on Earth would any Wall Street investor think Trump taking a stake in Intel is a good idea.
Also, where are all the "small government" conservatives? Shouldn't they be on Fox News clutching their perils right about now?

Among the many problems with the way capitalism handles markets is the incredibly short timelines the market cares about. If it won't hurt the value of assets right now, then there's no need to take action.

I think that Trump's illegal attack on Iran is more complex than "he got manipulated by the Israelis," but I think that does explain a lot of this situation.

Can we all agree that Trump is using every major event he can to manipulate the markets? Every day I open Yahoo Finance it's something about Trump swaying futures or the market itself.
