I usually follow up once a week with relevant questions, it maintains the connection and interest. I know this is all common sense, but it just seemed like you were seeking some support in a decision, forgive me if I overstepped.

I always email a follow up the next day, I think it shows interest in the position, usually with a question I did not ask during the interview to encourage a response. If I do not get one by the end of the work week, then its safe to say they are not interested enough in me and I move on!
