It's so weird. When Google exploded on the Internet I don't remember people designating themselves as Search Engineers.

I have been on there this whole time and my feed just got filled with incredibly racist stuff. It doesn't feel like a platform over there. It feels like a propaganda machine to convert me.

Most use of LLMs is as a replacement for Google search because search has been broken by SEO's. What people really want is a way to input a question and get a quick answer. We had that for years and it used to be faster and cheaper!

I mean, we just tried this and it lead to the situation we're in now.

Fun fact: the government already has all the information they need to do your taxes for you. They could send you your pre-filled tax return and say, "Sign here if this is correct" and 95% of people could get their taxes done in 5 minutes.

Instead we have Turbo Tax Hell World.

Google is embroiled in anti-trust lawsuits. There's a reason they want to be on the adminstration's good side.

Because they are trying to curry favor with the new administration.

This is the dumbest culture war I have ever experienced.

Weird that you consider the single most important and urgent issue to be "niche."

I don't know. I'm not seeing much here to grab my attention. Most of what I see is just commenting on how much this place has grown. That's going to get old fast.
