trying to get an omegaverse fic posted this month! this is the dialogue i typed up for a scene where jinx budges her way into jayce’s pathetic nest (and his heart)

i had this scene for ages now of omega jayce not knowing how to nest for various (angsty) reasons and so he nests w/rocks
Text reads as a back and forth dialogue between Jayce and Jinx, Jinx is character A, Jayce is character B: A: “May I enter?” B: “....” (shuffles over making room, does not answer) A: “Cozy, I like the prickly aesthetic myself–but ehhh needs more color in my humble opinion. Not that you have to take that to heart, this is obviously your nest not mine.” B: “...not yours?” (subtly sniffs Jinx, eyeing her warily) A: “Of course hammerhead–what did ya think I was some boorish dumb alpha?” (flicks his hair) B: “...I just assumed. What brings the terror of topside and messiah of the undercity to my door?” (blatantly both ignoring the fact that she’s inside his *nest* ) A: “Most do–it’s okay, I guess the crazy kinda outshines the omega part of my image. I like that–terror of the topside, sounds like a proper villain don’t it heh…don’t really care for the other half of that. Ya know, for being the villain to your story, you don’t seem that…idk, bothered to see me?? Most people are bothered.” B: “Yeah well…maybe I just…not much can surprise me these days…what did you really come here for?” (literally too depressed to even care that much at this point poor fella) A: “Eh cutting straight to the chase! I like that Mr. No-Nonsense here don’t need any of my dazzling charm to butter him up–” B: “--Jinx.” A: “Jay-jay.”

Here’s a wip for an upcoming fantasy week fic I have planned. Jayce is gonna be courted by mysterious local sea leviathan Viktor!
Text reads: Jayce has had the same dream for as long as he can remember. Ever since he was little, he has dreamed of the sea. It always starts the same way, so familiar to him now it feels more a memory he has lived than a figment of his unconscious mind. He opens his eyes and gazes up, up, up to a world of water the same color as the sea glass he used to collect as a kid. Colorful fish flash overhead in breathtaking patterns, sea grass dances at the edges of his vision, and he lies against the sea floor on a bed of soft sand. He never cries here, never worries about what the next day might bring—a feeling of contentment embraces him. And as he lies there gazing up at the waves glittering beneath the sun’s glow, he hears it. A song, always the same distant notes, carry along the underwater currents and swirls around him just before he wakes. The song—whether it be a whale’s call or some other sea creature—always tinged with melancholy so vast it startles him awake every time, breathless and clammy and crying in his bed night after night. And every morning, as he lay awake in bed gazing up, up, up to a dark ceiling he can’t help but feel just as lonely as that distant whale song.

I don’t have much for wipwednesday but i did start working on a fic i have planned for jayvik fantasy week! its about sea leviathan viktor taking a human form to go find a mate and he ends up courting local PhD student Jayce Talis—its gonna be cracky lighthearted romcom and I’m really excited!
Courting Ideas: Jayce mentioning one time offhand how much he’d love to go diving to see all the local shipwrecks in the area—wakes up the next morning and there are like 30 sunken ships littering the beaches. Jayce waking up to seashells near his door every morning, he starts collecting them and displaying them on his windowsill. Meanwhile Viktor is looking increasingly more smug/proud. Jayce: “For some reason the weather patterns and tides have been favorable lately, its made our night dives safer and we’re actually allowed to dive more because of it despite being the off season (and despite the fact that this area is known for shipwrecks and rough seas).” At one point, Jayce either forgets important research notes/tools at home, his mother needs him or is sick, etc and he has to leave early. Viktor meanwhile PANICS and there are reports of storms and rough seas all the way back down the coast as he follows Jayce back to his hometown. There are the sounds of mourning whales singing in Piltover Harbor the entire time Jayce is there. Jayce’s first gift vs his last gift. Jayce finally reciprocating with a gift of his own (that Viktor treasures DEARLY).
