Isn't simulating quantum chemistry a huge deal for medicine and drug discovery though?

Project management and systems architecture skills are going to be so much more important for devs going forward. Until Claude gets better than human at those too

It's not perfect though. I asked it to make a modbus parser, which it did. It also generated a superfluous buffer that I had to go in and strip out. Still a lot of manual cleanup, but much faster than doing it myself

Were ideas about traditional apprenticeship driven by ideas about patronage? Did we lose apprenticeships when we moved away from official patronage?

Another option for accessibility: autogen captions for all images upon posting, then show them to the post author to get validation

Maximizing the number of people I reach isn't something I want to optimize for, and the text I posted is already a pretty good summary of what's in the image

I can't say no to something called scop. Ordered

As Gergely says

> I'll certainly miss having a space on the internet to ask questions and receive help – not from an AI, but from fellow, human developers

More focus on community might have helped SO to thrive

Lots of folks are building companies that are just LLM wrappers. SO could have expanded to that. Maybe the LLM tries to support you, and then autogenerates a question if it can't. You only have to type your stuff up once

SO could have integrated LLMs way sooner - not to answer questions but to help ask them. And to help rephrase confusing answers before they get posted. A better clippy, maybe?

If nobody has an answer, support active debugging. I've seen SO questions that have sat for months with no answer where I could provide at least some direction. More support for collaboration would help here

I've only asked/answered a few questions on SO. Every time was a stressful experience of mods quibbling with me or telling me my text wasn't valuable. Engaging on SO was a painful hoop to jump through to get answers, not a pleasant conversation with people who have a lot of shared experience

Interesting to consider what would have kept Stack Overflow relevant. Most important thing is probably treating question askers better
