Spooder has really cool stripes.
A grey tabby cat is flat on his side so you can see his silver-grey and chocolate-grey stripes. Toward his spine, about in his middle, the stripes form chocolate ovals on a background of silver.

We saw The Kid tonight. Besides a poster for it, one hallway also has a painting (?) from "What's Opera, Doc?"

#musselburgh Number 2 is now at the "miles of mindless knitting" stage. Modeled as ever by Strudel. I don't celebrate Christmas but I do enjoy a good Christmas-colored skein of yarn.

I think I've finally found the right project for this yarn. It will grow up to be a Musselburgh hat.

Chipotle is somewhat camouflaged by the '70s upholstery, but the burgundy pillow really shows off the apricot-ness of his fur.

Now if it sets up to gummy consistency I'll be ahead of the game.

Merino, bamboo, and silk spun on my EEW 6.1. I love the colors so much.

This fellow (I assume, I haven't gotten a clear look at that end and he's super fluffy) is Creampuff, whom we assume is a stray because he's VERY skittish and has been very happy that we feed him. This photo is at 10x magnification, but I'm working on earning his trust with food and gogurts.

I think I'm getting the hang of the Canadian production wheel. (The answer to any problem seems to always be "more oil.")

So with adopting our two remaining fosters, Strudel and Waffle, from their new shelter, we have now officially foster failed with 50% of the kittens born behind the yarn shop this summer.
In the background is Strudel, a solid-orange-and-white teenage kitten with large polydactyl paws, is either hailing a cab or flipping you off. In the foreground is his brother Waffle, also orange and white but without the jumbo paws.

Here's my little honeybell tangelo from last week.

I should check in here more often. Here's a fairly simple piece of knitting I've fucked up twice (so far):
A piece of bright cobalt blue knitting, shaped vaguely like a truncated triangle attached to a full triangle at a 45-degree angle. The truncated part is supposed to be a point, and there's a stitch marker with a coffee-bean-shaped bead on the needle the knitting is hanging from.

I recently aquired a marked Michel Cadorette Canadian prodiction wheel and I'm in love. She's a grand old lady and we're starting to spin some very nice yarn together.
An old-fashioned spinning wheel with a very large drive wheel (30"!) and a bright rainbow-colored drive band is ready to work again after decades of idleness.
