Enrollee here- I use my coverage maybe once or twice a year because it’s a PAIN IN THE ASS. It is nearly impossible to find a clinic that will accept my insurance. I have to drive *out of a major city* to get care. And I can only afford the visits, because I have Obamacare.

The amount of folks who are having to live out of their vehicles dues to high COL around here is steadily rising, and it’s bullshit that fast freaking food is becoming unaffordable too. None of us chose to be born, and no one should face barriers to feeding themselves.

Downtown Everett is cute. People are generally friendly and neighborly, lots of social events and things to occupy your time and a thriving art community. I quite enjoyed living in downtown Everett, years ago!

Books. Books on gardening, mending, survival, holistic medicine, foraging, etc. focus on empowering yourself through knowledge rather than hoarding resources in fear- if things here get really bad, we likely won’t have access to internet and information, so hoard knowledge.

Knowledge. Buy books on gardening and plant companionship. Learn to mend, sew basic things- learning how to add a basic pocket is a great thing to have in your mental emergency kit, learn about safe foraging and food prep, basic first aid plus stop the bleed training.

I’m not exactly certain what it would look like, but citizens should have more of a say in how and why the new government operates. We should be able to more easily fire, inept or incompetent or corrupt, elected officials. They need to be term limits and upper age limits for all positions.
