It seems like having values that have stood the test of time somewhat thus far can be valuable.

I just worry that as our society becomes more... I don't know how to describe it other than conscious trapping lol idk basically the insensitive to take all your attention to extract money from you. Sorry I'm dumb. But as this happens, the goal post of "selfish" is being shifted.

I'm talking on a personal spiritual level.

I guess that's what I mean by Christian. I haven't been asked my religion in my daily life in a very long time. Not to get a job. Not to go to college.

Following Jesus' example in today's society is harder than going with the rest of the mainstream.

A world without religion will never exist. If you get rid of the old ones, new ones will emerge.

I would argue that political ideologies are coming close.

The crusades were not unprovoked. But yes, 30 years of war is bad. Killing is bad.

Pushing religion on people is bad.

But lumping a group of people together is also bad. Let's be honest.Most Christians today are just trying to be better through desperate times. It's much easier to be non secular.

It's also where a great deal of charity comes from as well.
I suppose we could do a cost benefit analysis.
My mom got a lot of free food boxes from churches we didn't go to when I was a kid. No questions asked, they just gave it. And there was always a line.
It's not all judgment and bigotry.

I'm sure her family being shot at might have had something to do with it.
