Hard to believe it’s been 12 years since Seamus Heaney has left us. My favourite poet, still; the reason I came to Belfast, to see my father’s ancestral land, bizarrely entwined with my own path of poet-archaeologist. Here is a passage from my favourite sequence in Seeing Things.
