My last job in television production was twelve days on, two days off, for $600/week (this was a while ago, but still, it was low even for the time). Overtime--time and a half--kicked in after sixty hours each week. It was ridiculous, and I'm sure multiple labor laws were violated.

That'd be awesome!

Yeah. This is the kind of job that could be an excellent launching pad for an industry career, or could absolutely devour your life and leave you a shell of a human being. It's most likely to do a combination of both!

I genuinely think that a depressing portion of readers don’t know how to engage with a first-person narrator as anything other than an uncomplicated hero to whom we’re meant to relate

YEP. It's so maddening. I distrust every book-related email I receive these days.

Also (important!) the mob boss whom Crockett is working for at the start of Miami Vice's final season after losing his memory in that boat explosion and slipping into his ruthless undercover alter ego Sonny Burnett.

The too-brief emergence of Napoleon's cheery bisexual side is the only thing worth remembering about the Christmas episode. (I just revisited my recap, and I'd mercifully forgotten about the part where a captive Illya and Napoleon are freed from their bonds by a bunch of turkeys.)

Killing Joke's Eighties! Great song, with that opening riff that Nirvana borrowed for Come As You Are. www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1U1...

Excellent! I hope your vacation does the trick. And thank you so much for spreading the word about THE DIVIDE.

That sounds miserable. I hope you bounce back soon!

Ingrid pointed out the long and enduring relationship between Man from UNCLE and Macy's. I hope Bob received a lifetime's worth of priority Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade bleacher seating in exchange for that ghastly Christmas episode that doubled as an hourlong Macy's commercial.

How a flawed idea is teaching millions of kids to be poor readers
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have repeatedly debunked. And many teachers and parents don't kno...

I like it! I think Ghost Bond has a lot of potential, too. Imagine all the crazy stunts an incorporeal Bond could do.

Ingrid and I celebrated an early Thanksgiving on Saturday, so (naturally) we watched a grainy VHS-recorded copy of the 1980 Macy's Parade on YouTube, and at one point they randomly cut to Vaughn sitting in the bleachers watching the parade with all of New York, and we cheered wildly.
