it was only 1min of footage and she was thankful to have it back. she shared some strong feelings about artists who work with found footage which was interesting to hear that perspective

couple years ago when i was inspecting some of the footage i had, an artists name was written on the leader who i randomly knew through cfmdc. when i emailed her, she had no idea where or how those pieces of footage got to someone else, then to me.

I used a developer temp of 84F (ish) at 2 mins. Or, let the developer cool down and increase your time. I did both and they worked well.
If you’ve tried other similar but different recipes lmk!

I use the recipe taught to me by filmmaker Terra Long:
🌱 4 fistfuls of plants, pulverized (I used a blender this time and worked well)
💦 4L water (2L hot to dissolve, let stew for 30 mins, then 2L warm)
🧼 360g washing soda (stir well)
⚪️ 80g vitamin c (Add last, should fizz)

I've been working on this project examining the physical and imagined erosion occurring at Hanlan’s Point Beach on the Toronto Islands. This new film dev recipe is an ode to the plants whose roots provide stability to the sand dunes, a natural coastal protection to keep tides low.
