The reel shared by the President should be the tipping point for elected officials of both parties to act. Elected officials serve ALL the people, not only supporters. Images of a President dumping feces on amendment protected speakers tells us all who we are dealing with & who is enabling this.

What’s everyone reading now? I’m enjoying McBride’s Natl Bk winner “The Good Lord Bird” right now; almost through. Up next Stone Yard Devotional.

Finished The Empusium. It’s taking a place on the shelf with one of my favorite reads of all time. Like all grest books (The Grapes of Wrath, Les Miserables) it tells a story while holding up a mirror to historical, spiritual, and societal themes that need to be considered and changed.

Really enjoying this book I asked for as a holiday treat. Highly recommend.

One of our country's leading poster artists has passed at the age of 83. David Edward Byrd created unforgettable art for Broadway, movies, and rock and roll. #godspell #follies #prince

There is a stillness in the January cycle that reminds us to blanket ourselves, nourish ourselves, gather our life force, protect our energy, and rest to fortify for journeys ahead.

Put yourself and your spirit first right
now with no apologies. There is power in stillness.

Maybe the lesson unfolding is that we embrace the teachings of Jesus & stop using him as a “get out of jail free card” like the so called Christian right does. Maybe we forego the mega churches, the condescending judgements of the goldspun pulpit and commit to being decent humans. #decencymatters

Tonight’s book I will finish, re-reading Ibsen’s “The Wild Duck”, and listening to Sam Cooke as I tend to keeping a fire burning in the hearth on this bitter January day. Add in elderberry tea and local honey, plus pajamas and my four legged pals and I am good.

Eve, regally ensconced on her warm fuzzy throw, enjoying her day in the sun on this bitter mountain afternoon.

Warmest spot in the house? Find the cat.

Now is the time to remember the goal. All men are created equal.

Accountability and transparency are not bad things to demand in our transactions in this world.

Demand accountability and truth.

Live and behave honorably.

Cherry Springs State Park in Potter County, Pennsylvania. It’s the place you need to visit to remind yourself or someone else of our place in the great mysterious. It’s awesome!

When you tally it all up, it’s the utter lack of personal humility that is destroying our world.

PS…they don’t mind seeing you in an exclusive club, restaurant or resort - but they prefer you wearing a name tag, not checking in.

NYE wish is to honor our spirit by moving forward with magnanimous intentions, sharing our unique skills to produce things benefiting the many & making room at the table for those who approach with humility.

No resolutions. No apologies for being “woke” (syn- empathetic consideration to all.)

Grabbed this when I stopped at the library. Such a thought provoking read. What are you reading this holiday week?

My 2025 anthem fueled by the energy I am discovering here on Bluesky:

Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone.
You'll never walk alone.

Holiday season, family crap, new year’s, all of it can wear you down. You are not alone. Reach out.

All storms lose their strength. Do what you need to do to put yourself first, no apologies. You’re not alone.

The backyard is especially joyful when you see the wildlife stop and look at the glow of the tree lights in the yard. # simple blessings

8 degrees this morning in the Poconos. Sun shining through the treetops being reflected off the ice crystals on the mountain stream below looking like cascades of diamonds. My 10% Scandinavian genetic make-up loves this.

How do you make America great again when tinsel has fallen out of favor? You can just smell the accident from the Canadian Club highball wafting off the fur….#holidayantics

As I walk in nature to connect with the Great Mysterious, the ability to see marketing and the demand for attention by those looking only profit in this world brings me clarity and vision.

Shut off the screens, don’t wear brand names on your body. They untether you from what matters.

Reconnect.
