I have a now ex friend who outed himself a few years ago by defending Ben Shapiro’s rhetoric about trans people. This guy swore that Ben cared more for trans people than anyone because he recognized their “mental illnesses” and wanted to get them help and “cure” them of being trans. 🙄

Exactly. I was red when I saw this comment. It was on a FB post about a woman who outed her cousin for having an abortion 10 years ago after she came out as pro-life and my reaction was the same as yours. So many “liberals” were cheering her, then this one added insult to injury. “OBLIGATED.” 😡

Why are you going off on “bring a woman” or “coddling the guy who refused to drop out”- even though he dropped out so wut???- or stuff that hasn’t been said here? Are you really doing the pancakes vs waffles meme right now?

An autopsy of a campaign, looking at things like statistics, isn’t a hypothetical, just analysys. Furthermore, there is never a singular reason why a candidate loses. You also can’t predict how voters will vote in 4 years based on their previous nominee (look at Romney vs Trump).

I’d like to also note there is a huge distinction between hypotheticals and probabilities: Saying “Trump will fill any SCOTUS opening with right wing radicals” is a probability (or certainty in this case), but “what if two different politicians or two countries opposed each other” is a hypothetical.

What hypotheticals? I don’t even know what you really mean by this. There’s no point whatsoever going into “Biden/Bernie/My Cat would have won” hypotheticals of the past, and future hypotheticals are often thought exercises for people who are unaffected by outcomes.
