From the moment I heard @brennanleemulligan.bsky.social describe the Stone of Nightsong, this print has been in my head.

Now it is finally on paper and I am so happy to share while I listen to episode five.

🌱 Tofay, I woke up to devastation.

Many of the bulbs are gone. Only the snapdragons (and not all of them) were salvaged.

I did what I could but it's kind of a wait and see what happens in the spring.

Squirrels are tough mfers. This poor has been living on this patio since April and never touched

Thank you! I was so jazzed when I saw the pot at the store. I didnt even measure, just assumed (with vibes) that it would fit. With the riser I had spare - IT DOES!

Lastly, in an experiment, I moved my late in the season peanuts from a bed to this grow tower.

Will they die instantly? I guess we'll find out. We're still over a month out from first frost and I really need to lay my cover crop so the four remaining beds are being stripped clovered and mulched.

I also continued working on putting the garden to bed for the winter.

I split and moved my Shasta Daisy and Echinacea to my newly dubbed perennial bed and also split the yarrow.

Next, I will be adding a layer of compost, scatter seeds, and mulch.

🌱 This morning, I updated my bulb planter(late spring early summer) and added a few crocus and snow drop bulbs as well as the lavender alyssum and sonnet snapdragons on top.

This is one of my favorite patio items.

🌱 Two rows of carrots and 120 onion bulbs planted!

(40 each of yellow, red, and white onions)

I'm so ready to be done putting the garden to bed for the winter but still so much to do. This is my first year not going hard on the winter veg.

I'm going to put a cover crop in the beds and call it.

🌱 LOOK AT MY BABY!!! It's the first flower!!

I will always advocate for carnivorous plants in the kitchen when possible!

Morning on this super overcast day.

We're having family over tonight and planned a bonfire, so, of course, rain is in the forecast.

This little beauty decided to join us.

I have also seen bumble bees and, in my morning walk through the garden, counted nine caterpillars on the milkweed.

It is a good morning.

Some mornings call for the bigger cup of coffee.

Bean has also taken to join me with her storybook.

Took Bean on a small adventure today, just the two of us, to a local( one hour drive) aquarium.

Then we went to a nearby(to the aquarium) beach for a picnic lunch.

Today was a good day.

I want to do productive things - but my coffee is warm, the weather is cool, and this chair is kinda comfy.

It is when it first fruits! When it's still o ly a few inches long you can eat it like a zucchini. But if you leave it on the vine, it starts to harden, and once it's fully dried out, you can peel it and use it as a sponge.

I'm selling some of my processed harvest to a local nursery gift shop.
