Fact Check: Big Meat’s Manipulative Messaging, Debunked 1. Meat is not more natural than plant-based meat alternatives. One of the more popular PR messages regarding meat in 2024 was that animal products are healthier and more “natural” compared to “ultra processed” plant-based meat alternatives. This messaging isn’t new, but persisted in 2024. However, it ignores the fact that 99 percent of animals raised for food in the U.S. are factory farmed in inherently unnatural conditions, and undergo much processing to become meat, dairy and eggs. 2. Beef is the highest-emitting meat, and not eco-friendly. Recently, the meat industry has tried to argue that beef can somehow be good for the environment as long as it’s raised on a farm that is regenerative, eco-friendly, carbon neutral or some other variation. No greater example of this was Tyson Food’s Brazen Beef brand. Though the brand claimed to be climate-friendly, they were sued by the Environmental Working Group for misleading consumers about efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions. 3. Animal agriculture contributes to world hunger. Meat lobbyists pushed their message that industrial animal agriculture plays an important role in addressing world hunger. Not only is this not true, but the industry actually contributes to world hunger, thanks to its inefficient use of arable land and resources to grow crops for animals, instead of people. Reducing the massive amount of land needed to grow food for livestock could lead to more crops being fed to people.

Deep into my data analysis of disability employment. The data, whilst not without limitations, suggests the need for greater flexibility. Interestingly, also emerging is that a focus less on physical presence may allow disabled people to be more present in the workforce.
