What a weekend for trail work! There were over a hundred volunteers working on Fountainhead, James Long, Lake Fairfax, Wheaton Bike Park, and Emmitsburg trails yesterday.

Thank you for maintaining these places to ride.

Something funky happened with the platform we use to send out the newsletter and some of the photos got switched out. (We swear we didn't deliberately put a beer flight to describe adaptive trails or a jersey mockup for trail projects).

Fairfax County Park Authority is being forced to cut its budget, significantly impacting how the agency is able to maintain parks, trails, and public outdoor amenities.

A few months ago, we asked the MORE community to weigh in on Anne Arundel County's plans for Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park (CHMP). Thank you to everyone who advocated for trails! 🎉 The county just released the final master plan for the park, which includes huge wins for trails and AACo.

Rounding out our 2024 numbers, we ended the year with 17,235 volunteer hours! This includes time devoted to trail work, leading rides, event support, and admin tasks.

2024 was a solid year of mountain biking with 752 group rides, 1,599 unique riders, and 135 ride leaders. Thank you to everyone who led and swept rides and hit the trail with us.
