Clark and others at the Army Corps were instructed to go through social media posts to scrub DEI: words and ideals “that I have been taught my whole entire career were important and is what the Navy and made our country stronger.”

And then she was fired...

Elon spends nearly $300 million on getting Trump elected, and now Trump is using White House resources to promote his cars to help Elon boost his stock prices. Not even a speck of ethics left in the Trump White House.

I don’t know if I have ever in my lifetime felt more embarrassed to be an American than I feel at this very moment…

I can't get over how much rage and hopelessness I feel today. I just wanted to use my PhD to do cool research that might help diagnose women earlier with cancer, but Trump ruined everything. I hate it here. He made the USA a fascist dictatorship in 1 week. No more cancer research, folks, call reps!

Appreciate the clear description here:

"...it will last until walking conspiracy theory Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is confirmed...if so, this is a hostage situation: confirm our deeply unqualified, manifestly dangerous anti-vax nutjob to run the place, or we will let your lab rats die."

As a scientist, these developments are terrifying. Imagine you are a PhD candidate looking for a job right now like myself. They are decimating a generation of scientists and bringing innovation in the US to screeching halt. When is the march? When do we ride? I've got nothing to lose.
National Institutes of Health cancel scientific meetings after Trump directives
An email obtained by NPR says NIH employees are subject to a travel freeze and offers of employment are being rescinded. Scientists worry about disruptions to critical research.

Snowy snow Independence, Missouri. Just waiting for the Chiefs game to start while I try and feverishly write my thesis and revise my paper in time to graduate. Stay safe and cozy, y'all.

6/ Following Tennessee’s abortion ban, Mayron Hollis was forced to continue a pregnancy that threatened her life. A ProPublica reporter and photographer then followed her family for a year:
She Was Denied an Abortion After Roe Fell. This Is a Year in Her Family’s Life.
Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.
