uhhh i don't see what that has to do with getting live intel from epstein during a hearing, but if her point is hey we're all horribly corrupt idiots here, sure go off i guess

VALENTINE'S DAY???? come the fuck on guys
November 11, 2025 at 8:40 PM
i view it as a killer saying he's going to come to your house and kill your family, and your friend says worry not! i'll protect you. your friend then unlocks your front door in the middle of the night, your family gets killed. i think your "friend" does in fact take some blame here.
November 11, 2025 at 4:19 PM
well... that all checks out. it does require a level of sociopathy to care that little about the impacts of your decisions, but i suppose it's generally a self-selecting crowd.
November 11, 2025 at 8:50 AM
What the fuck is wrong with everyone? Does chuck have some magic leverage on every single dem senator? I feel like I’m a conspiracy theorist now
November 11, 2025 at 7:28 AM
I think they have vision it’s just not a very good vision. Gotta take their corporate money sunglasses off.
November 11, 2025 at 3:55 AM
definitely. over past decade I find it more predictive to operate under assumption that dems are corporate loyalists who are better than Rs (esp on social issues that dont challenge corp power), but in light of their response to fascism i find them inexcusable. but I appreciate our shared goals here
November 11, 2025 at 3:41 AM
thanks for engaging in earnest. we just had elections last week that suggest there has in fact been a sea change in the electorate in response to trump's insanity, which i think people DID think could lead to some concessions. cuz otherwise we just hurt a lotta fed workers? worth it? its all bad
November 11, 2025 at 3:36 AM
fed workers starving in exchange for nothing is outperforming? I dunno I'm sympathetic to it being a gamble (with peoples lives on the line, while so many different groups' lives are on the line daily/going forward), and there's no good answer/its all risks. but man i don't trust the dems. thanks
November 11, 2025 at 3:34 AM
2/ when the same people who caved were just saying 51k people will die if ACA subsidies expire. its cold and calculating to view this purely through a numbers/utilitarian/harm reduction standpoint, but i don't know how else to when there's so much suffering and one must choose. it sucks!
November 11, 2025 at 3:30 AM
so what i'm getting is people are concerned about the fed workers starving w/o paychecks. that's very real, and horrible, and I don't blame you. I think the people enraged at this "cave" are coming at it from a "why did they do any of this to begin with" standpoint
November 11, 2025 at 3:29 AM
haha i think this is fair, I disagree in terms of general strategy and my personal take is schumer knows exactly what he's doing and they love their excuses to not be helpful for the sake of their donors. but I really appreciate this take its the most reasonable ive heard explaining this
November 11, 2025 at 3:24 AM
thank you! i think most of the people enraged by the "cave" feel that in fact, tides were starting to turn with the recent wave of elections and polling etc. and actually causing harm to trump folk. hard to balance people suffering in real time vs projections of harm w/ ACA subsidies, its all bad
November 11, 2025 at 3:21 AM
sincerely, were you all mad that they did the shutdown to begin with? i can't get an answer on this from any of you, and if you did think it was obviously bad since more people would suffer.. doesn't this make the whole charade even dumber? can someone explain it to me
November 11, 2025 at 3:19 AM
so when the dems first started the shut down, were you against that? was it a fool's errand? just trying to get my stories straight if you all thought they were idiots then and somehow.... less idiots now after this charade? truly i do not understand
November 11, 2025 at 3:16 AM
i had to google wtf glonzo is, prob my cue to get off this site. if anything i said was inaccurate or misidentified the issue at hand/who is to blame happy to be wrong! should be easy to point out the error of my ways I'm assuming, based on the glonzo thing
November 11, 2025 at 3:15 AM
For sure, absolutely costs- immigrants, trans people, fed workers, people on snap, etc face costs every day. At this point it just feels all terrible and from a utilitarian desire to reduce deaths and suffering I struggle with this. wish the best for the people you know, its bad out there lately
November 11, 2025 at 3:04 AM
That's fair! Happy to discuss in whatever level of prose you deem correct with perfect punctuation if that will force you to respond to an actual argument.
November 11, 2025 at 3:01 AM
right- that was the ENTIRE point of pressure campaign with the shutdown. did you think the dems standing up to them for the shutdown was idiotic to begin with? cuz that would make this play... 80 times more idiotic? I can't even pretzel logic my way into understanding defending this
November 11, 2025 at 2:55 AM
the entire premise as stated BY THE DEMS was to extend ACA subsidies. schumer HIMSELF said 51k people will DIE if they don't extend them. why people keep giving schumer et al the benefit of the doubt is beyond me. they do not care about you, they are not on the same side.
November 11, 2025 at 2:53 AM
sincerely, I think its fucking abhorrent that federal workers are getting fucked. but they made that tradeoff for 50k people who will die if ACA subsidies aren't extended. in fact chuck schumer said that. if that is the case, how is this justified?
November 11, 2025 at 2:49 AM
in light of this, and the shutdown cave... do you still think they're actually on your side? and not just playing you?
November 11, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Given where the bar is I will accept baby steps towards the bare minimum, but yeah these fucking people. the people who still support them should be studied it’s some real Stockholm shit
November 10, 2025 at 9:24 PM
it was definitely kind of a thing
