5/ it is morally reprehensible to say that some children are deserving of what they need to thrive and others are not. *All children are created equal*.

4/ Given that children benefit society, and we need them, it is in the interests of everyone to ensure that *all* children have as secure and stable a childhood as possible.

3/ most parents will have spent time working and paying taxes before they had children and, given children benefit society now and in future, parents ought to be supported in this endeavour. (Thanks parents! 🙌)

2/ it is today's children who will pay for the healthcare and pensions of tomorrow's older generation. We need them to be healthy and well-educated.
