Witch.
Spellwork takes a lot of energy, and the more powerful the spell the more I tend to feel it, so it has to be someone who deserves that energy.

Anyway, these are just my thoughts and I wondered if anyone else had any ideas for a real Witches' Road.

Alternatively, I could start the challenge on new years, a month before Imbolc and then follow it until next year's Imbolc - 13 months in all which is a nice witchy number.

Either way, I would also want to begin with the tarot spread from the show.

I thought I might start the whole thing with a bath ritual for the winter solstice = winter/water/potions, a bath is a good place for cleansing and dedication, I could meditate on the song, choose specific herbs and oils (I'm thinking protection, road opening, and magical power).

Ideally, by the end of the "road" I will have studied at least five branches of witchcraft much more in depth, and performed several powerful spells or rituals, probably on the sabbats.

There are different opinions on which season is most strongly associated with which element, but I like spring=air, summer=fire, autumn=earth, and winter=water. This would make Midsummer/Litha, for example, a perfect time for a fire/protection spell/challenge.

According to the solar seasons, spring begins 1st of February (so, Imbolc), summer 1st of May (Beltane), autumn the 1st of August (Lughnasadh), and winter 1 of November (so day after Samhain). The other four solstices are equinoxes or solstices, so the midpoints of those seasons.

And I don't intend to drink poisoned wine any time soon but I like the idea of element-themed challenges. The path also fits nicely into the concept of the wheel of the year - I'm not Wiccan but I do find the wheel of the year really elegant and well structured so I like to follow it

So as part of "walking the witches' road", pay extra attention to studying witchcraft associated with the elements. It's an invitation to go more in depth on different branches of magic. For example, in the show, the water/potions witch is also a glamour witch, which makes so much sense

Here's what I've got so far:

The Witches' Road places emphasis on the elemental pentagram & the way it categorizes different branches of magic. Five witches - the divination witch (air), the potions witch (water), the protection witch (fire), the green witch (earth), and Agatha (spirit)

I use tarot and playing cards, but I have so many little charms I've collected over the years that are actually perfect. I'm gonna do it!

I disagree, and I think a lot of witches have experience that has shown them that's simply not true. But I also don't think that anyone should do something they're not comfortable with. I think there's a lot you can do politically with magic even following those restrictions.
