PA requires police to get a warrant to search a car unless there is probable cause and exigency, but today SCOPA said not when they see contraband in “plain view” from outside the car when the stop is unanticipated—they can enter the car to seize it without exigency.

Carol Moseley Braun was the first Black woman elected to the Senate in 1993. Jesse Helms once followed her into the Senate elevator singing "Dixie." He told fellow Senator Orrin Hatch, "I'm going to sing Dixie until she cries."
