I think that's one of the many challenges of being introspective & empathetic. I've had those conversations with a loved one, & the relief when my perception of myself & reality was validated overwhelms. Reminds me of what social creatures humans are, & why it's vital to find community when we can.

I totally feel the anger, disgust, & hatred. But if we could avoid references like this to his voice... having worked with many good human beings who struggle with verbal communication due to disabilities, comments like this can cause a lot of pain and "othering".

It's also the lack of middle ground. There's no middle ground on your right to exist as a person.
And the reality is if you're trans in the US right now, you're grappling with this every day, it big and small ways.

As a transman who passes consistently (except on the phone), I've struggled with this. If there was an organization ready and willing to provide some of the organization and support others have mentioned, I'd be all in.

Not to say that I've ever considered Walmart as a true ally (for any marginalized group)... but the whiplash still hurts my neck. They were fine taking people's money for a product with an audience... until there was an easy opening to show their true colors.
