Again, homosexuality is solely, by definition, about same sex attraction. Trans is solely about gender identity. While there are varying sexualities within the group, the term homophobia is inaccurate. Prejudice is wrong regardless, but in this light is not homophobia.

As a 68 year old openly gay man, who’s been out since age 17, spent 30 years with first partner and currently married 15 years to my second . Being gay is about same sex attraction, not sexual identity, pronouns or concerns about being born in the wrong body.

I have empathy and understanding for trans folks. But at this age and stage, I can see that including them under the umbrella of “gay”, has diluted the empowerment and respect we had at one time.
