The situation itself disincentivizes self-repair. The Citizens United ruling got us here and the people who could change it on both sides of the isle (but mostly the right) are beholden to donors / oligarchs.

How to overcome that?

Also stop predicating discussion of truth and arguable import on how you think people will respond.

ICE is illegal and has been for many years because as a body politic we fail to reject brutal racism.
