I listen to the Daily on the bus to work most days. I have found no episode as chilling as today's which is about the media landscape in America and the war on the freedom of the press.
As President Trump set out to eliminate or intimidate those who stood in his way — inspectors general, judges, law firms — the news media loomed as one of his most stubborn obstacles. Or so it seemed.

Listen to "The Daily."
Nixon Dreamed of Breaking the Media. Trump Is Doing It.
The president’s heavy-handed approach to traditional journalists has the hallmarks of an attempted crackdown 50 years ago.

“In Trump’s first term, we were told: Don’t normalize him. In his second, the task is different: Don’t believe him,” our columnist Ezra Klein says.
Opinion | Don’t Believe Him
Look closely at the first two weeks of Donald Trump’s second term and you’ll see something very different than what he wants you to see.

This might be a good time to switch your subscription dollars to a locally owned independent publication.
