However, I feel that a lot of people, seeing the cover, would expect what the movie portrayed. Without during research it would be misleading, especially for parents as the book isn't age appropriate for kids at all.

I'm genuinely trying to decipher if you are stating that they are alpha males. Because you do realize that the alpha concept was first applied to hens, right? Rather than male wolves.
