Finally, the last author who has inspired me a lot has been Junji Ito. This Japanese mangaka manages to stir your stomach with his drawings, and the rhythm of his stories is extremely good.

Another author who inspired The Bugs Manor is H.P. Lovecraft. But not for the cosmic horror, but because of his concept of terror: what scares us is the unknown, if we do not understand the source of the fear, it will be much stronger.

About the writers, one very important because I have been reading him since I was 6 is RL Stine, his books from Goosebumps have helped shape the setting of the game: the 90s, the Midwest of the USA, and preteen main characters.

From Little Nightmares I gets the idea of remove the inventory, making the way of interacting with objects and the stage more direct. Being able to pick up, drop or use an object immediately.

Another of my principal influences was the Little Nightmares saga. Its atmosphere is incredible, and the AI of the monsters and the puzzles focused on the game feel make the game very fun.
