Sentences for charges against protesters are extremely long in Georgia: 7-9 years maximum.
Let us remind ourselves why Georgian Dream came to power: overfull prisoners, mass detentions, trumped up charges and prison abuse. GD is betraying the very reason it came to power.

These boys in a kangaroo Georgian court attended a protest against an authoritarian pro-Russian regime. While they weren't beaten like 2/3rds of those detained, they face 7-9 years in prison. For perspective, rapists face 6-8 years.

Unlike Afghanistan or Iraq, U.S. military love working with the Syrian Democratic Forces. Safety for American troops vis-à-vis the Kurds is never a problem.
